For years, gyms around the world have utilized the original AbMat as a helpful layer of protection for the head and neck during handstand push-ups. Now, with the AbMat HSPU Pad, several new design features have been introduced with this specific purpose in mind.
Along with offering a 2″ thick layer of protective padding, the AbMat HSPU Pad includes arched cut-outs on each side of the pad, ideally suited for the placement of bumper plates. This design allows athletes to set a consistent hand placement while also keeping both the plates and AbMat in a stable, reinforced position. Multiple plates can be stacked on each side of the pad to train deficit movements, as well.
The AbMat HSPU Pad features a durable foam construction and is made with pride in the USA. This model is built exclusively for use during handstand pushups (HSPU) and is not intended for sit-ups/ab work like the original AbMat.

September 9, 2020 Bought this mainly for doing low row exercise with my Ironmaster lat pulldown and low row machine, which has you sitting on the floor doing rows...no big deal. Sitting down on floor (horse stall mats) isn’t great in the bum. Bought this pad from Rogue and it has proven worthy. Low rows are no longer a problem. You could use a pillow, however this doesn’t slip and is more firm. It is also great for the knees when doing the ab wheel. Knees no longer are taking a beating. Recommend this highly!Henry Sailes

August 3, 2017 I had been looking for a product like this for a while. While I have 2 other versions of AbMats (Pro and Wise Crack), which are good for floor exercises, they're not suitable for handstand push-ups. Finally, when I saw the AbMat HSPU Pad released, I was excited because I knew this was what I needed to perform handstand push-ups safely. This mat is fairly large, so it provides adequate surface area, and is soft for placing the top of the head on. It does an excellent job of supporting the head. Use of bumper plates is optional, since they will add height to the floor and slightly lengthen the range of motion. I use it without plates and do it straight off the floor. The pad doesn't slide and stays in place just fine. Overall, I'm very happy Rogue came out with this product. Thank you!
